Nah, mate. You want to go with a 2600K and an OCZ RevoDrive x3 SSD. Most everything else is fine, but I could buuild two rigs for the price they are asking.

The key is to buy what gives the best performance, not just buy what is most expensive. ;)

You don't know much about the 2600k and the i7 990X do you?
The 990X is the best CPU currently on the world. The 990X beats the crap out of the 2600K (atleast with Video Rendering and all that good stuff) But indeed, for the same amount of money you can even have a better SSD or Graphicscard.

Not much... I just run a forum where people come asking about builds and help. ;)

I am a bang for the buck kind of guy. "Why pay a grand for just a CPU?" is the way I look at it. Video rendering is great... if all you do is render video. But you can use the built-in power of the newer graphics cards to do it even faster now. Most games can't begin to tax the higher end CPU's... but more graphics and speed elsewhere (as you said) would pay bigger dividends for me.

Believe me, I am drooling over Rossco's build, from the case on up. I would love to upgrade my own but can't afford to do it right now.
