world of tanks - Sep 26 2010, 16:04

I have been playing this free game for a while, more than likely more hours than I can really think of.
World of Tanks is a free to play game based on ww2, with tank only warfare.
Go to "gamespot " and sign up for the beta test. The real game will be released in the fall.
You start of with a crappy light tank and then choose the path you wish to take.Light to heavy tanks or artillary. All parts of your tank are up gradable via a tech tree.
Check it out some of you may enjoy the game. One thing I like is no one get all kinds of kills. Half the team may end up with no kills. But you score points for spotting enemy and getting hits. Only beta but I am having fun and recommend game.

I think to play with friends you have a premium account. Then you can create "platoons" and invite others to join your platoon. At the moment its free due to the constant supply of gold they give you. I my friend have zero gold due to my adiction to buying tanks and upgrades.
KV 100%crew, elite stug, elite VK3600, elite Marder2, T-34,
just sold my Tiger, high tier battles are expensive and the tank was always in the bottom 5 and it loses money.

But most important thing about this game is you never look bad.  ;D
If you fail to get a kill, then no big deal half ur team dont.
No hot dogs running in ur face and racking up all the kills.
To me this is fun, fair gaming, something the FPS shooters totally lack.

With you being on the US servers, I see there is an option to play in the EU.  Can you join either?
